STORAGE JAR - c. 1800

Well, I finished the piece I spoke about the other day.  It took 2 days as when I do detail work with lots of color blending on the surface, my arthritis flares up and my painting hand goes into cramps - so this was done 1/2 & 1/2 over 2 days.

"STORAGE  JAR c. 1800"
24 X 30 ON GESSOED 1/4 INCH MDF PANEL
Chroma Interactive Acrylics wet into wet with a big brush and lots of emotion and spontaneity in an expressionistic style with a slight BURP of semi-abstract in the very foreground :>)

This was painted to:

Changing Lanes

They say for a blog to be successful one needs to blog every day.  I'm not sure if that is so but I do know that the more you blog the higher up in the chain of blogs your blog rises and should get more hits.

The above has nothing to do with this posting, it is merely justification for perhaps blogging more than once a week.

I've decided to take a short break from my avenue of loosening up my style and work on a POT painting which I love to do.  It is a WIP at present and I hope to put it up on the blog in a couple of days.  It is 24 x 30 and is titled "Storage Pot c. 1800"

It involves a lot of color blending directly on the surface - wet into wet - and this stirs up the arthritis in my painting hand so I need to stop for several hours at a time to have the cramps subside.  Stay tuned.

RV SEARCH

Although our house has not sold - no one even interested although we've had quite a few showings, I'm still searching for RV's that seem to have all or most of what we are looking for.  It's going to take a while to sell our house in this depressed RE market - but we are in this for the long haul so it gives me more time to research and catalog RV's of interest.  I designed a sheet that lists specific items we would want and like in our RV.  When I find one that fits the bill, I record the info on a sheet and catalog that for checking up on each week to see if it is still for sale.

I've found 3 dealers that I'm impressed with and they seem to have a good inventory of low milage RV's of the type we want.

http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/  This is a clearing house in Houston TX and they seem to have the best inventory and they seem to sell quite a few.  All the RV's for sale are on one lot, which will make it easy to check them out.

http://www.pedatarvcenter.com/  The dealer is located in Tucson AZ and is an approved dealer of GOOD SAM which is an RV organization that we belong to.  They have some nice units as well.

http://www.myrvsolutions.com/  This dealer is located in San Diego CA and has some nice sounding units as well.

If we were ready to buy today, we would hop a plane to Houston, spend several days and check out all the units that I have made a record of at PPL Motorhomes.  If none ended up being of interest, it would be onto AZ or CA.

Most if not all dealers offer an inspection of all the components of an RV  - this cost is $300-$400.  They also can set up for a mechanical inspection of the vehicle portion of the RV - this again is $300-$400.  should problems be found, we would be under no obligation to buy unless the dealer or the owner agreed to have the problems fixed.

We also have some very good friends Nancy & Wayne who just came in off the road (for a while) after a year of full time RV-ing and they have been and will be a great help to us.

Well - off to the internet and the World of RV-ing.

MARGARITA SOUTHWEST STYLE

# 3 in the Refrigerator Series - 14 x 11 on canvas panel - Chroma Interactive Acrylics - big brush - wet into wet - alla prima with gusto, spontaneity in color and form with a semi abstract/expressionistic style.
As mentioned before, I am in the process of loosening up my style - I figure I'm about 1/2 way to the level of looseness I want to acquire.  I would like my style to be just shy of sloppy.  An artist I follow quite extensively says"  When you start to recognize the items in a painting - you have perhaps put in too much detail.

It is the absence of detail that in my opinion makes a painting shine - in that one should always give the veiwer something to finish --------

Now I have to go buy some more "things" for our refrig!!!!!

THE LETTER TODAY IS E

E is the letter for today:

E is for ENOUGH

I am thinking of dropping out of the "Tossing It Out" daily Blog Postings.  The fact is that, hell,  I can't even get my friends and family to be active contributing/commenting followers of my blog!! I'm one of 1,200+ bloggers registered on the "Tossing It Out" daily blog and not a single one has visited my blog in five days, while some blogs have 100 comments. Apparently my chances of getting anyone to comment on my posting is pretty much the same as my chances with most of my friends and family - ZERO TO NONE!!

It seems to me that the originators of "Tossing It Out" had a very clever idea and devised a way that THEIR BLOGS get tremendous exposure - as evidenced by the massive number of comments on their blogs from other members of "Tossing It Out."  I salute the originators - it was very smart marketing on their part.

After reading my above posting of the letter E, it makes absolute sense to me to drop out - I've convinced myself!!  WOW - nice blog entry JR!!!

I will of course continue with my RV and Painting NORMAL blog entries but while I've had some fun, as far as my "Tossing It Out" blog entries for each letter of the alphabet ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
