THE EAGLE HAS LANDED

Yo Blog Buddies,

Well------the eagle has landed - we are now in Fort Wayne Indiana - the trip here ended up being a total of 16 hours - YES that is a 16 hour day today!!!!

Tomorrow we will have a nice breakfast and drive to Elkhart which is about 1-2 hours away.  We'll head straight to the NEXUS RV plant where Claude & David ( the owners) will introduce us to our new HOME -----WOO-HOO!!!!

So my friends -- our dream is coming true.

More later tomorrow and I'm sure some photos as well!!!!!

PHEW

Yo Buddies,

Well - we are at the Albuquerque Sunport and at this point our flight to Dallas is listed as on time!  Two flights before ours have been cancelled!!!

So far so good - we are about 2 1/2 hours early for our flight which is scheduled to depart at 12:20 - but we believe in being early - Ya Never Know What Can Happen - besides which Y'all have to sit someplace - so why not at the airport.  People watching can be fun!!!

The big question will be if the AA flight from Dallas to Fort Wayne IN will take place.  AA has report at least 50 of their aircraft in Dallas have bad damage from lemon size hail!!!

I'll keep y'all posted as the day progresses.

We move forward another day

Good Morning Blog Buddies,

I know it is hard to see, but my DW Melissa and I hope to be sitting in two of these seats later this morning and on our way to Dallas and then Indiana.
It is going to be a very long day as we have a 4 hour lay over in Dallas and we do not arrive in Indiana until 11pm.  So since it is now 6:30 am , I'll let you guys do the math - but as I say, a LONG DAY ahead of us!!!!!

I've been on a diet for some time now trying to get into shape for our RV Journey and I've managed to loose about 20 pounds over the past few months- Melissa has lost  weight as well.  Both Melissa and I have been working out - I think we have made some headway.

Welllllll - as I have admitted to, I'm am prone to exaggerate  just a TAD

HOWEVER

WOO-HOO we are ready for our RV JOURNEY

TORNADOES!!!!!!!!

Well Blog Buddies tomorrow we bring the car over to an airport parking lot and take a shuttle to the American Airlines Terminal.  We are a bit apprehensive as our first flight is into Dallas - Fort Worth airport.  They had 3 tornadoes touch down in the Dallas area today!!!

We will just have to go with the flow as a lot of flights had to be cancelled today.

When we made the reservations, we could have flown into Chicago - but Chicago seems to always have weather problems - plus it is a very congested airport!

I'll keep y'all posted as the day progresses tomorrow.

My Goodness time does FLY

Yo My Good Friends,

Well today we relocate to a Best Western in Albuquerque - at the airport.  We stay there overnight and fly out to Indiana on Wednesday 4/4.

I think it is time to display the following:

THE COUNT DOWN IS DONE!!!!
WOO-HOO  :>)

Hard to believe I started this count down 5 weeks ago!  It is even harder to believe that we started our interest and search into RV-ing well over a year ago!  Closer to 18 months ago.  Some very good friends of ours Nancy & Wayne got us interested in RV-ing and from there we started doing lots of research into the process of RV-ing and into the many choices of RVs out there - from used to new - big to small.
We've learned a lot in this year+ and still have a lot to learn .  With friends like Nancy & Wayne and a fellow whose RV Blog name is RvRon, it has been a big help to have folks like these holding our hand and helping us understand what it is we are about to enter into.

Well, the next couple of days may be so full of travelling and learning that I might miss a blog or two or only have time for a short hello.

Stay tuned as there is a lot of info and stories and paintings to come!!!!!

Remember to check My DW Melissa's blog - as I say, she tends to be more serious and certainly exaggerates a lot less than I.

Melissa will also be posting photos of our journey.  She is a wonderful photographer and has actually won awards for her photos and displayed and sold many of her works in the gallery we owned back in East Boothbay, Maine.

Check her out!!!!

Until next time -

Good Morning

Well, our last day in Santa Fe - we leave for Albuquerque tomorrow - stay overnight and fly out on Wednesday.  Time is closing in - won't be long now!!!!  WOO-HOO!!!!!!!

Today they are forecasting rain/snow showers - someone forgot to tell Mother Nature it is April!!!! With luck it will be the last snow we ever see!!!  WOO-HOO AGAIN!!!!

May have to do a laundry run today as "somethings" are getting down in inventory.  We also have to weigh the duffel bag as the 50lb limit is in effect!!!

Well, just a short post to say hello and wish y'all a great day.

Later my friends,

Sunday, April 1, 2012

Yo my friends

Well woke up this morning in the Santa Fe Best Western Plus - slept like a baby--------

WOKE UP EVERY 2 HOURS!!!!!  :>)

Melissa went to a yoga class this morning so now I'm sitting in my most favorite coffee bistro ECCO - having a mocha with a generous supply of whipped cream on top (I love whipped cream!!!)

If we have room in the RV we will get a mocha maker - we both love mochas!!!!  I searched on line and believe it or not, Mr. Coffee mocha maker was one of the top choices - and the cost is under $75!!!!

This is a 2 hours yoga class, so I'll spend some time in ECCO and then go over to the Plaza and watch life walk by!!!  The tourist have come back to Santa Fe - so lots of folks walking by - all sizes - all shapes.  You can tell who is a tourist, as they are the ones wearing shorts although it's only abut 52 degrees.  Hey - they are on vacation!!!

Today we will play tourist - going into galleries and shops - after all the moving and re-organization of our storage bunkers we can use the rest!!

So- get out there and enjoy the day!

Later,

JR    :>)
