Good evening my friends

Yo Dudes,

Well we had a great day today - I painted a bit - Melissa wrote a bit and we just sat outside and enjoyed the balmy weather and our lovely camp site!

This is 11 x 14 a scene from Blue Rocks Nova Scotia.

This is on heavy linen paper done alla prima wet into wet with of course Chroma Interactive Acrylics

We went to the Lodge at the campground tonight for dinner.  We both got the cat fish sandwich - it was fantastic.  A big-big piece a catfish lightly fried with a breading on it and it came with hush puppies.  A great dinner - the fish was so sweet and clean tasting.

Well it sort of clouded up this afternoon so I would not be surprised if we got rain overnight and into tomorrow -
Take care my friends and until next post See YA.

Yo my friends,

Well, we ventured further into Kentucky - a very pretty pastoral area lots of farms and horses!

We are at another wonderful State Park - Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park.  Great campsites and they have a golf course, hiking trails, a marina, swimming pool and a GRAND LODGE - this place really is a resort.  The rates with full hook up are under $30 per night and seniors get a 10% discount!!!!   :>)
Wifi costs $3 per night

KENTUCKY

Hello my friends,

Well, here we sit in Kentucky in a Sam's parking lot for the night.  You can't beat the nightly rental - IT"S FREE!!!!!!!  That's about a $35 savings over renting at a campground!!!!   :<)

We bought a few needed items in Sam's as well as a pizza for supper!  We are running our generator so we can have electrical power and keep our batteries charged.  The generator runs off the gas in gas tank in the truck and the generator will shut off when the truck's gas tank reaches 1/4 full.  We filled up at the Sam's club gas station and I would not expect us to us more than 1/8 of a tank of gas as we will only keep the generator on until 9 PM or so.

We were also able to bring in 8 TV stations so we have TV well!!!!!!  For WiFi we are using Melissa's iphone Verizon hot spot.

So all is comfortable and we'll set back out on the road tomorrow morning.  Not sure how far we will go - it depends on the road - traffic - weather.  Ahhhhhhhhh the life of a vagabond!!!!

I have problems with accents - especially British - Irish - Scottish and various accents within the USA.  I have to tell you I have no idea what these people in Kentucky are saying.!!!!!!!!!  They are friendly and smile and say hello but after that - SWOOSH  THE WORDS FLY OVER THE TOP OF MY HEAD!!!!!!!!!

A generator needs to be "exercised" under 1/2 load for about 1/2 hour every week or every other week.  I have not been doing this as all the campgrounds we've stayed in will not allow the use of generators!!!!
I recently found out that you can run your generator while driving down the highway - so that is what we will do from now on, for a half hour or so with the A/C and refrig on.

There are 2 other RVs in the parking lot so we have company.  It is common practice for local police to check the parking lots when they see RVs spending the night - we have a interior alarm so we feel secure in Sam's parking lot or in an RV park

Well my computer needs to charge some more so until the next post-------------------------

RV Park Review

We leave Prophetstown State Park this morning  :>( and I wanted to review this facility before we left as we

LOVE IT HERE!!!!!!!!

PROPHETSTOWN STATE PARK
BATTLE GROUND INDIANA

Prophetstown State Park sits at the edge of a tall grass prairie that greeted Native Americans and European settlers who first lived in what is now northwestern Indiana.
It is a short distance to Perdue University and to many other attractions.
There is a WOLF PARK in Battle Ground which can be toured and on one night of the week they have a HOWL WITH THE WOLVES evening whereby the guests can howl along with the wolves and I'm told the wolves answer the howls!!!  How cool is that???!!!
The campground at present has 110 sites - 55 with full hookups most are back in sites but there are some pull through sites as well.
There is a dump station and there is a large comfort station with modern restrooms and shower facilities.  The comfort station is quite large and very clean.
Picnic areas are available as well.
The cleanliness of the campground is a pleasure to ones eyes - there is a resident host as well.
Most if not all the spaces are quite level and in the spruce tree section the sites are situated so that you have privacy from you neighbors and sort of a lovely "back yard woodsy view."
This is a wonderful campground in existence since 2005-2006 so it is still not on the radar for a lot of campers therefore it is quiet and a very restful stay.
Our stay this trip was from 9/25/12 - 9/29/12 - We were in site
#123
On a scale of 1-10 we would give this a 10 and most certainly return for another stay - only the next one would be longer.  There is a maximum stay allowed of 2 weeks.

THE SUN!!!!!

Yo my blog buddies,

Well, the sun came out and the sky turned  blue!!!!  WOO - HOO!!!

We went to downtown Battle Ground Indiana and yes my friends there is a downtown area.  Following photos will prove that!!!!!

Yep this is it!!!!!!  One block long and wide!!!! We found a cafe" and we each got a great home made large biscuit and a coffee with refills and the total bill came to $4.14!!!!!  How great is that!!!!

The cafe we found in the ONE block of downtown

Best biscuit I've ever had!!!!

We then scooted over to the Wolf park

First a splash of color - they have a butterfly garden at the entrance to the Wolf Park

I use to say "My wife is a fox."  But now she is a wolf!!!!!   :>)

This place is FANTASTIC!!!!  We took a guided tour and it was so interesting just amazing!!!

This one even howled for us!!!!!

Well worth the price of $7 which included the guided tour!!!

Now for a short siesta and them some preparation chores for our departure tomorrow morning - how far will we go???????  Time will tell!!!!
