Well we have arrived in Punta Gorda. We are at the Shell Creek RV PARK Punta Gorda Fl.
RV parks have a way of making the place look better than it really is - this is done thru some very innovative photos and descriptions. This park is not quite what we expected and really not 100% to our liking. The main reason being there are lots of older modular homes here as well as some trailers made into permanent structures and not a lot of RV's. The spaces for RV's are sort of located here and there - some spaces not all that wide or long. We did get a pretty good space next to a permanent modular home on one side and the shuffle board section on the other side - across the street are more older modular homes.
They have a nice pool, shuffle board, horseshoes and various planned functions in the Rec. Hall.
Not 100% our kind of place but it's clean - quite inexpensive - works out to be about $15 per night plus electricity - of which we use very little as we cook, heat and run the hot water with propane as well as the refrigerator. When you book a site for a month, the electricity is not included in the price as the monthly rate is quite a bit lower than daily or weekly rates. Sooooooo although the park is not exactly 100% to our vision of an RV Park - the cost overshadows that vision and we make adjustments!!!!!! 61 nights here is costing us $920 plus a little bit of electricity. :>)
Lots of our time will be spent at the beach, scouting out property and visiting our friends as well as taking journeys around the area.
Well - photos - paintings (I hope) and reports of our journeys to follow.
Take care my friends.
