The Plains of Abraham are in the Upper City and are one of our most favorite places to visit in the Upper City. At the beginning of the Plains you will find the Citadel and at the end of the Plains is the Art Museum with a wonderful Cafe' and a very large out door rink for jogging and rollerblading.
In between their is a very large park with gardens and benches and lots of shade trees. During the winter they groom several miles of cross country ski trails for public use.
Our most favorite section of the Plains is the statue of Joanna De Arc.
This statue was donated to the City of Quebec by a husband and wife who fell in love with Quebec and with the history of Joanna De' Arc or as we know her, Joan of Arc. Their only request was that their names not be released to the public.
The gardens are so very very beautiful and well maintained. The biggest garden is at the statue and smaller gardens are found throughout the park
Walkway lined with gardens leading down to the statue of Joanna De Arc.
If the weather is good today we are going back to the Plains of Abraham and sit in the shade and watch live go by and enjoy the solitude of the park and all its beauty.
After a while we will go to the Art Museum and have a nice lunch in the Museum Cafe'.
I ask you - What else does one need?
