We we are settled into a new campground which is about 2 hours south-ish from Elkhart. This is an Indiana State Park called Prophetstown State Park. It is in Battlefield Indiana just a few miles from Lafayette and West Lafayette the home of Purdue University. A very pretty area, lots of farms and corn fields. The State Park is very, very nice and only costs about $25 per night including full hookup - Water Sewer & Electricity, a picnic table and a fire pit and a pretty level surface to park the RV on.
Following are some photos or the park.
There are currently 110 RV sites with more planned . The park is new, coming into existence over 2005-2006 so people are still finding out about it. Since it's not the height of the season, not too many folks are here so it's nice a quiet.
The sites are good size with foliage (trees) between sites for nice privacy. Most sites are back in with a few pull through sites. There are a couple of hiking trails one is 2.25 miles and the other 1.9 miles and a 3.2 mile pave bike trail. Nice clean bathrooms and showers.
We'll be here for 3 nights - look around the area and check out a few attractions and some R&R!!
Well until next post -
